A short documentary about ice explores the role and agency of ice in shaping Arctic futures by following a sailboat journey through the Northwest Passage and an overwintering in Kalaallit Nunaat.
Before watching the film, four different perspectives on ice will be presented by Dr. Johanna Ikävalko, Viola Ukkola, Prof. Kamrul Hossain, and Markus Kumpula.
The creators of the film; Dr. Sohvi Kangasluoma, Mikko-Pekka Karlin, and Juho Karhu will also be present to discuss the making of the documentary.
After the screening, coffee will be served.
The documentary is part of the Planetocene2050 project led by Prof. Sanna Kopra, funded by the Research Council of Finland.
