Professor Wolfgang Wagner (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) will give a public lecture “The Ukraine War and citizen attitudes on fighting for their country” on Thursday 15 Feb 14.15–15.30 at Eelin Sali.

Wagner is a professor of international security at the Department of political science and public administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Frankfurt/Main and was a senior researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt before coming to Amsterdam in 2007. His research has focused on the domestic politics of foreign and security policy in liberal democracies. Recent publications include “The Democratic Politics of Military Interventions. Political Parties, Contestation, and Decisions to Use Military Force (Oxford University Press 2020). 

The lecture is part of his visit to the University of Lapland, and ongoing REPAIR collaboration (https://jmmodulerepair.org/) between Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Arctic Centre.
