BANG workshop “Cross-border mobility and citizenship” & future planning meeting
The workshop and planning meeting is organized by the BANG network (Barents Arctic Network of Graduate Schools). It brings together Ph.D. students and experienced senior scientists specialised in problematics of the Barents region, and representing various disciplines.
The main themes of BANG are: international cross-border transitional cooperation; rapid social, economic, and cultural transforms; resource development conflicts; and environmental challenges. All the activities of the participating graduate schools are open for the Ph.D. students of the network partners. BANG was initiated by the Arctic Graduate School ARKTIS, and it is coordinated by the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland. NordForsk funds BANG for 2007-2010. The workshop is organized in collaboration with the ARKTIS graduate school and the BIPE research network at the University of Lapland.
The BANG workshop & future planning meeting has two parts:
1. An open workshop on Tuesday, 12th of October, to share experiences and practices of cross-border mobility and citizenship problematics
2. A planning meeting for invited guests to discuss the future of the BANG network on Wednesday, 13th of October
