Tanja Joona (Dr. Soc. Sci.), Title of Docent in Public International law, is working as a Senior Researcher at the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland (2000-). She is the Principal Investigator of the REBOUND project, a consortium funded by the Strategic Research Council of Finland (SRC) under the JUST TRANSITION program (2023-2029). She was the Finnish Institutional leader and WP4 leader of the H2020 project JUSTNORTH (2020-2023). Tanja Joona also holds a position as the Arctic Five Chair in Just Green Transition (2022-2024). Her primary research interests focus mainly on the Arctic region, with comparative legal and political aspects of Indigenous Sámi society and especially issues dealing with traditional livelihoods, energy transition, and other land use, international human rights law, and identity questions in the context of justice and equality. She has been working on several national and international projects, published numerous scientific peer-reviewed articles, and participated in international conferences worldwide. She also has several positions of trust at the University of Lapland as well as in the society as a Directorate Board Member of Metsähallitus, Council Member of Municipality of Ylitornio and Deputy Board Member of the Regional Council of Lapland. She is also the Chair of the Arctic Task Force of the Baltic Sea Commission.

Pasi Rautio is a Research Professor in silviculture at the Natural Resource Institute Finland (LUKE). He is the Vice Principal Investigator of the REBOUND project as well as the leader of WP2. Pasi’s expertise is in forest and environmental ecology, and his role involves forest monitoring and studies on forest regeneration and management methods in areas that are facing pressures of other land uses, such as tourism, recreation and reindeer herding. Currently, he is the coordinator for ArcticHubs, a H2020 project investigating solutions to Arctic land use conflicts and the long-term sustainability of the region. His previous work at the University of Oulu, Finland, and Stockholm University, Sweden, included biodiversity and restoration of seminatural pastures; evolutionary ecology of plant-animal interactions and air pollution effects on forest ecosystems. He has also worked as a forest policy officer in the European Commission (DG Environment). Pasi is a member of the UNECE Team of Specialists on Boreal Forests and Programme Co-ordinating Group of UNECE ICP Forests. He contributed to the latest AACA-report (Adaptation Actions for a Changing Arctic). 

Mia Landauer (Dr. nat. techn., M.Sc.) is a University Researcher at the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland. She is a Senior Scientist and Project Coordinator of the REBOUND project as well as the leader of WP3. Her transdisciplinary research focuses on just green transition in the contexts of Arctic economic development, land use, and climate change governance. Her special research interests are nature-based livelihoods and rural entrepreneurship under global change, which are also her research topics within the WP3.

Ph.D. Pigga Keskitalo is a Professor in Education, specifically focusing on Arctic perspectives in education at the University of Lapland, Faculty of Education. In the REBOUND project, she is the leader of WP4, which focuses on intergenerational perspectives of green transition. Pigga has recently conducted research within the context of Sami education and Indigenous studies. She has collaborated internationally in the fields of Arctic, Indigenous, and global education. Additionally, she is leading the LINCOSY project, funded by the Academy of Finland, which focuses on investigating Sami language teaching in Nordic countries. She holds the title of Docent at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Previously, she worked for 20 years in Norway in Sámi Allaskuvla.

Dr. Dorothee Cambou is an Assistant Professor of Sustainability Science at the Faculty of Law, University of Helsinki. In the REBOUND project, she is the leader of WP4. Her research explores the intersections of international law, human rights, and land governance, emphasizing social justice and sustainability. Dr. Cambou is renowned for her expertise in indigenous peoples' rights, exemplified by her editorship of various volumes, including the seminal work on the significance of the rights of the Sámi people, published by Routledge in 2024. Presently, her scholarly focus lies in the critical analysis of the implications of the green transition from a justice perspective.

Jonna Häkkilä is a Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Lapland, Finland (2014-), and docent in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the University of Oulu, Finland, and the leader of the user experience research group LUX at U. Lapland. Prior to this, she was Director of User Experience (UX) at the Center for Internet Excellence U. Oulu (2012-2014), and research leader at Nokia Research Center (2007-2011). In the REBOUND project, she is the leader of WP6, which focuses on participatory design. She received her PhD degree in computer science at the University of Oulu, Finland, in 2007. She has published over 150 peer-reviewed scientific papers on HCI, focusing on mobile and ubiquitous computing and user-centric design. She has received research grants as PI from the EU, Academy of Finland, Tekes/Business Finland, and Interreg, and her group’s interactive works have been presented in Milan Design, New York Wanted Design, and several museums in Scandinavia. Her research interests include unobtrusive interaction with technology, and in utilizing design methods for creating and assessing future technology visions.

Minna Pappila (LL.D., docent) is a Senior Researcher in environmental law at the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). Her expertise lies especially in forest and biodiversity law, and her previous research has also focused on corporate social responsibility and environmental participatory rights. Lately, Pappila has focused, e.g., on ecological compensation and land use planning. Within the REBOUND project, she is the leader of WP7, which focuses on developing governance pathways, including regulatory solutions, to address perceived unfairness and inequity within various segments of Arctic societies. Additionally, Pappila leads a work package in another STN project (BOOST) and participates in numerous other research projects at SYKE.

Miia Kärnä (Bachelor of Culture and Arts) has worked as a communication entrepreneur for a long time, offering expert services in communication strategic planning, content production, media communication, and stakeholder communication, especially for organizations located in Lapland. In recent years, she has focused on developing participation and communication services for complex operating environments.
