Tanja has been working since 2000 at the Arctic Centre, currently as Senior Researcher. She is the Principal Investigator of REBOUND, a consortium funded by the Strategic Research Council of Finland under the Just Transition program (2023-2029) and was the Finnish Institutional leader and WP4 leader of the EU Horizon2020 project JUSTNORTH. Tanja Joona also holds a position as the Arctic Five Chair in Just Green Transition. Joona’s primary research interests focus mainly on the Arctic region, with comparative legal and political aspects of Indigenous Sámi society and especially issues dealing with traditional livelihoods, energy transition, and other land use, international human rights law, and identity questions in the context of justice and equality. She has also been working with several other national and international projects and has positions of trust at the University of Lapland as well as in the society.

At the moment Juha is working as a researcher in the SRC funded REBOUD project and previously in WP4 of JUSTNORTH. Juha Joona comes from a reindeer-herding family. His academic research focuses on the branch of legal history and real estate law in the geographic area of Northern Finland. Most of the topics in his research deal with the land and water rights of the Indigenous Sámi People. Joona has a long experience on land use issues dealing with traditional livelihoods, reindeer herding, fishing and hunting in the context of other land uses, such as mining and wind power. Joona was awarded the Olaus Magnus Prize for his work.

Miia Kärnä (Master of Culture and Arts) has worked as a communication entrepreneur for a long time, offering expert services in communication strategic planning, content production, media communication, and stakeholder communication, especially for organizations located in Lapland. In recent years, she has focused on developing participation and communication services for complex operating environments. Miia Kärnä is working as Interaction Specialist in the REBOUD project 

Mia Landauer (Dr. nat. techn., M.Sc.) is a university researcher at the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland. She is a senior scientist and project coordinator of REBOUND. Her transdisciplinary research focuses on just green transition in the contexts of Arctic economic development, land use, and climate change governance. Her special research interests are nature-based livelihoods and rural entrepreneurship under global change which are also her research topics within the REBOUND WP3 she is leading. She is also Associated Senior Research Fellow at the The Institute for Security and Development Policy in Stockholm.

MSSc Henri Wallen specializes in using Bayesian data analysis, spatial statistics, and applied mathematics to study environmental and social systems. In REBOUND project his work focuses on Arctic environmental changes, land-cover dynamics, and the resilience of social-ecological systems, and the impacts of climate change on Arctic communities. Through his research, he contributes to understanding and addressing the challenges facing the Arctic.

Sara Inget (M.Soc.Sc.) works as a researcher in the Just and Responsible Decision-Making in Lapland project. She is responsible for compiling orientation materials, supporting the research implementation of the project, and ensuring the quality and usability of the collected data. In addition, she develops and evaluates monitoring methods for the development pilots and prepares recommendations based on the project's results. Sara’s particular research interest lies in issues related to societal participation.

Mari Riikonen (MA) works as a coordinator in the REBOUND project with responsibilities in project administration and communication. Previously, she worked in science communication at the Arctic Centre, where she coordinated the Arctic Spirit Conference, Finland’s leading international Arctic event. Mari has broad experience with societal issues related to the Arctic, and she is particularly interested in interdisciplinary projects, research communication, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
