Therefore, the EU has allocated EUR 1 million for a project aimed at compiling different perspectives on Arctic developments and EU’s role in the Arctic and producing an EU Arctic Impact Assessment Report.

  • Barents Editors’ Forum in Kirkenes

The local ornithological association, the Birdlife Finland and the Arctic Centre will arrange a EuroBirdwatch event in Rovaniemi on Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to noon on the river bank next to Arktikum House.

    For the first time, over 70 sacred sites custodians, indigenous people's organizations, scientists, policy makers and members of civil society gathered in Finland to draft a joint Conference Declaration that states recommendations and guidelines for policy-making related to sacred sites in the Arctic and that calls for better recognize, legally protect and manage the sacred sites and sanctuaries of indigenous peoples in the Arctic region.
