Discussions on collaborative research partnership between the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland, Finland and the Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto, Argentina
On Monday 4th October, 2021 there was a virtual event organised at the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland with welcome remarks from Team Finland Knowledge, Argentina and the Director of International Relations, University of Lapland.
The aim is to initiate discussion on collaborative research partnership between the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland, Finland and the Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto, Argentina. The emphasis was on the utilization of natural resources within the bio economy and circular economy paradigm. The participants also highlighted the relevance of natural bioactive compounds in promoting health, food sovereignty, sustainability, digitalisation, value addition and food product development that can empower the local people in both regions.
There were twenty-six participants from Argentina and Finland with fourteen speakers from both countries who shared their thoughts for five hours on several topics.
The participants agreed to follow up on areas of mutual interests that will help to promote sustainable development goals. More details about the event will be published in the forthcoming Current Developments in Arctic Law journal.
