The Director of the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law (NIEM) Prof. Hossain has given a talk at the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) held at the International University of Sarajevo, Bosnia from 19-23 April, 2017.
Around eighty academic scientific papers have been presented in the Conference. Scholars from all across Asia and Europe as well as from Balkan region made the conference an interesting platform to promote dialogues on specific issues in relation to various regional contexts pertaining to sustainable development. Prof. Hossain’s presentation – Implications of climate change in the Arctic: human security and societal sustainability – highlighted various components of challenges in the Arctic having implications for human security that result in consequences for societal sustainability, particularly in the Arctic regional context.
