A joint collaboration event between the Arctic Centre and the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria.
On 29th November 2021, a joint collaboration event between the Arctic Centre and the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria was organised as a hybrid conference on several topics related to climate, food, health and entrepreneurship.
The value addition to natural resources and their utilisation in both regions is an important theme in meeting the sustainable development goals agenda. Welcoming words were made by the Director of the Arctic Centre, the Nigerian Honorary Consul to Finland and the Finnish Minister for Innovation. There were thirty-eight participants from Nigeria and Finland with fourteen speakers from both countries who shared their thoughts for several hours on the day. The hybrid event was also live streamed on Facebook with many online participants.
The topics discussed were multidisciplinary, they will serve as training materials for students and learners, the discussion focussed on research opportunities for institutions in both countries. The experts from both countries will continue to dialogue on the possibility of promoting common topics as research agenda in these important areas with the possibilities of creating more jobs.
