Funding for a new research project: The evolving relationship between the Sámi People and the European Union and its effects on the EU Environmental Law and Policy
Four year grant from Kone Foundation.
Alessandra Cafà, an Associate Fellow of the UArctic Chair in Arctic Legal Research and Education and Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lapland, has recently been awarded a four-year grant by the Kone Foundation (Koneen Säätiö) for a research project studying the development of a partnership between the Sámi People and the European Union and its effects on the European Environmental Law and Policy.
Her main fields of interest are the role of Indigenous peoples and local communities in Environmental Law, the Green Transition and the Rights of Nature. She collaborates with the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law at the Arctic Centre as a Visiting Researcher.
