The Arctic Market Days bring together local artisans, artists and food producers who offer a wide range of northern expertise for customers looking for Christmas presents. On sale will be for example interior decoration, clothes, jewellery, knives, ceramics, traditional crafts and local food products.

Arktikum Café is also open during the Market Days on Fri–Sun at 10–18. The event is organised by the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland. There is free entry to the event. 

Free entrance to Arktikum on Finnish Independence Day 

Arktikum building was opened to the public on the 75th anniversary of Finland's independence on December 6, 1992. On this special day, Wednesday 6th of December 2023, Arktikum offers free entrance to Arktikum exhibitions from 10am to 6pm.

On Independence Day, Arktikum Café serves visitors from 12–17 (no lunch). There will be live music at the Café between 12 and 3 pm.
