ECoHuCy Conference, which will focus on discussions in the areas of cybersecurity, digital exclusion, digital citizenship, and the environment, will take place in Arktikum House in Rovaniemi on 24-25 May 2018. The first day of the conference on 24 May at 8.30–17.15 is open for all who are interested and participation is free of charge.
The open day will consist of presentations given by specialists in areas related to cybersecurity, human security, digitalisation, and information society. The four thematic blocks: Information Sharing and Communication, The Role of Digitalisation for Sustainable Development and Human Security, Digital Actors and Social Exclusion, and Electronic Governance and Digital Citizen will allow anyone to explore issues related to digitalisation in the context of the European High North. Audience will have a chance to participate in discussions taking place after each presentation.
During the second day of the conference, researchers and scholars will further develop research ideas focused on digitalisation and cybersecurity in the north. This will help them to produce high quality research outcomes, which will be published in a book at the end of the project and in thematic scientific journals.
The conference is organized by ECoHuCy project (the Enablement besides Constraints: Addressing a Cyber Multidisciplinary Framework for the Promotion of Human Security in the European High North). It is the cooperative project between Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland (FIN), Swansea University (UK), UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, Institute for Security and Development Policy (SWE) and funded by NordForsk.
