Climate Change and Adaption in the Northern Regions, seminar on 4th of February 2009

The seminar is arranged by the ClimATIC project which is a three-year international project which involves community stakeholders working in partnership with public and academic institutions from five regions of northern Europe to explore the potential for different community sectors to develop adaptation capacity, and deliver real adaptations that provide local economic and social advantages.
Theme of the seminar is climate change and adaption to it in the northern regions. These topics will be discussed in the seminar:
- Climate Change Scenarios in Northern Finland
- University of Arctic and its Thematic Networks
- Floods and climate change
- How to combine climate scenarios with socioeconomic scenarios?
- Community climate adaptation opportunities and strategies in city of Rovaniemi
- Climate change and sealevel rise
- Expert panel "How to adapt to climate change?"
The Seminar is free and will be conducted in English.
