EXTENDED DEADLINE: Abstract Submissions to NJF Seminar on Reindeer Husbandry

The organizers of the ”Reindeer herding and land use management – Nordic perspectives” seminar announce an extended deadline for abstract submissions. The seminar is organized 20-21 October 2014 in Rovaniemi, Finland.


The main focus of the seminar is on issues related to reindeer herding and land use questions in the Nordic reindeer herding area in Norway, Sweden and Finland. The aim is to discuss reindeer herding and land use activities at different levels, and to figure out frames not only for sustainable reindeer husbandry but also for sustainable co-management of land use between different interest groups in the Nordic countries.

Also other topics such as reindeer ecology and welfare and cultural and social questions related to reindeer herding are included and invited for abstracts.

This international seminar is open to researchers, research students, reindeer herders, managers and other stakeholders who are interested in the topic and exchange of knowledge and experiences.
