The EuroBirdwatch is BirdLife International’s annual festival of events which invites all citizen members from all over Europe to get out and observe and explore birds. The local ornithological association, the Birdlife Finland and the Arctic Centre will arrange a EuroBirdwatch event in Rovaniemi on Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to noon on the river bank next to Arktikum House.

There will be guided bird-watching. Please, wear warm clothes and take your binoculars and/or telescope with you.
The Ounasjoki River delta next to the Arktikum House is especially known for a place where birds, such as swans and ducks, stop-over to rest while their migration to the South in the autumn.
The EuroBirdwatch – BirdLife’s annual birdwatching event in Europe – works to raise awareness of the issues relating to bird migration, and promotes efforts needed to save threatened bird species and their habitats.
