Arctic Market Days cancelled

1.10.2020 8:52

Due to current COVID-19 pandemic Arctic Market Days 2020 is cancelled. The market was supposed to be held in December at Arktikum House, Rovaniemi.

The Arctic Market Days, organized by the Arctic Centre, has yearly gathered together dozens of sellers from all over Lapland. The highly popular market would have been held this year for the 13th time.

– Unfortunately, we are forced to cancel this year’s Arctic Market Days as it’s not possible to organize the event providing a safe environment in compliance with health regulations, says Nicolas Gunslay, the Chief Executive Producer from the Arktikum Science Centre.

According to organizers, the decision about cancellation was a very difficult one because the event is important for many artisans and small businesses as well as customers. Last year the three-day long market attracted 7000 people.

The Arctic Market Days will take place next time in December 2021 in Arktikum House.
