Interactive visualisation of cross-regional issues in the northern regions of Sweden, Norway and Finland is the topic of the LiveNord project lead by the Arctic Centre. The main goal is to communicate cross-border data targeting both, the general public and policy makers.
The goal will be achieved through the development of a new map based visualisation tool based on live data feed and static data. In addition, a cross-regional planning tool will be developed to facilitate integrated cross-regional planning. Both tools will include a public participation tool to enable the acquisition of crowdsourced data, which has potential of engaging people in issues affecting their daily life in the region.
The visualized data will be selected according to indicators reflecting the four dimensions of territorial sustainability: economic, social, environmental and cultural sustainability.
