Ministry of Transport and Communications - EUROPEAN PARTNERSHIPS IN POLAR CLIMATE SCIENCE 2008 - 2011
- EUROPOLAR ERA-NET is a consortium of 25 Ministries, Funding Agencies and National Polar RTD Authorities from 19 European countries with a combined critical mass of Polar Programmes and Infrastructures of over 500 Million Euros per annum.
- Its main objectives are to deepen European coordination of national polar programmes and to enhance usage of infrastructures and best practise.
- Support for closer relationships and cooperation between national research programs.
- The proposed joint programme will impact directly at the policy level enabling governments to make informed decisions on mitigation or intervention strategies at the international level.
- A massive research based intervention will build a broad policy framework for addressing climate change in the Polar Regions and its direct impact on European Union populations.
