Arctic Centre Library

The library at the Arktikum is open for tourists, researchers, students, local people and
visitors of the Science Centre of the Arctic Centre, the Regional Museum of Lapland and
the Pilke Science Centre.

The collections of the library include books, journals and electronic material on Arctic,
Antarctic and northern issues within various disciplines.

From September to May Tue - Thu  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
                                             Fri              from 10.a.m. to 4 p.m.

From June to August        Mon           from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
                                             Tue - Thu  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
                                              Fri              from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On New Year Eve, Holy Thursday, Apr 30th, the day before Midsummer Eve and the day
before Christmas Eve the library will be closed at 2 p.m.
 Search for couples to a TV documentary
 The Barents Mediasphere project will produce a documentary on mixed marriages. TV Murman is looking for mixed couples from Barents Region of any age, with kids or with no kids.
 
 Arctic calls – Finland, the European Union and the Arctic Region
 Europe Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland, published on Thursday 16th May 2013 the book Arctic Calls – Finland, the European Union and the Arctic Region. The book is written by Head of Science Communications Markku Heikkilä and Science Communicator Marjo Laukkanen, both from the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland.
