ARKTIS public lecture series

ARKTIS PhD students and senior scientists started the public lecture series in 2005. The lectures are counted as a part of the students’ training as well as improving public outreach of the research made at ARKTIS. Many of the presentations are published as articles in local newspapers.

The ARKTIS lecture series: 

• Arktista tutkimusta 20 vuotta  -luentosarja syksyllä 2009 Arktisen keskuksen juhlavuoden kunniaksi
• Arctic research expeditions today - A lecture series devoted to the International Polar Year 2007-2009;
• Arctic indigenous peoples  -From snowmobiles to the international arenas of justice, spring 2007; 
• Arctic expeditions during the Arctic Week , 2007.

The public lecture series continue with varying themes. In addition, ARKTIS invites visiting scientists to give guest lectures, and its own scientists to give presentations about topical issues .
