Annual ARKTIS Seminar
The main joint activity of ARKTIS is the annual research seminar each spring. The seminar serves as a forum to students, supervisors and other members of the ARKTIS for scientific interaction. Students give oral presentation of their thesis works and they discuss each others’ works across discipline borders in the seminars. In addition to student presentations, the seminar includes keynote lectures from international speakers, panel discussions, students workshops training communication across disciplines (with specific themes) and discussions in small groups. The main focus is in student research seminars.
In addition to annual seminar, the graduate school and its research groups organise special courses, study circles, theme days (e.g. Towards defence), visiting scientists lectures and public lecture series. The educational activities are planned by the Directory Board together with research group chairs and supervisors.
