Research projects: on-going and completed projects.
Global Change:
The Arctic is particularly vulnerable to large-scale changes in the
climate and economy occurring throughout the globe. This research group
examines the effects of these changes and efforts to offset and adapt to
them.
Sustainable Development studies how people, communities and institutions in the Arctic manage
and cope with changing environmental, economic, social and cultural
circumstances in order to promote a sustainable future.
Environmental and Minority Law:
The Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law (NIEM) has
expertise in legal research in the Arctic and is specialized in the two
branches of law that appear in its name - environmental law and human
rights law.
